Who is to blame for Celtic Playoff Woes??

Celtics have looked absolutely terrible in their first two playoff games at home. The Bulls have controlled both games from start to finish. The crazy thing is that the Celtics are the 1 seed and the Bulls are the 8th seed. In modern day basketball, you just do not see this kind of thing. So my question is, who is to blame for this. Is it Danny Ainge for putting together a regular season roster that has no talent? Have they won so many regular season games, just because they play harder than other teams? Do you blame Al Horford for underachieving in the new system as a max player? You could even blame Brad Stevens. Everyone raves about how good of a coach he is. He did turn this team around, after they really struggled for a few years. The truth is that he is 2-9 in his playoff career. That is terrible. DO we let him off the hook for that. Who is to blame for this embarrassing series? Who will be on the hot seat after these playoffs come to a quick end. There are a lot of questions in Boston right now. I am curious to see what happens moving forward>

Celtics shocking the East

At the trade deadline, everyone was calling for the Celtics to make a big move. The Celtics “big move” was not making a move at all. Since the all-star break they have played very impressive basketball. Not only have they played good basketball, but the Cavs have struggled down the stretch. With 5 games to go in the Celtics regular season, they stand at 50-27. That is good for 1st in the Eastern Conference, just barely ahead of the Cavs. The Celtics will finish either 1st or 2nd in the East. Will their regular season success lead to post season success? I am not convinced, but only time will tell.

Booker drops 70; Celtics pull within half game

Celtics beat the Suns 130-120 the other night. It was just one game, but had two big story lines. Devin Booker, who is only 20 years old, dropped 72 of his teams 120 points. This was most points scored in a game since Kobe Bryant scored 81 against the Raptors. The Celtics got the last laugh as they won the game and pulled within .5 games of the Cavs. With the Cavs struggling the Celtics have a legit shot at the number 1 overall seed in the playoffs

Kevin Durant’s Injury could change the outlook of NBA

Kevin Durant suffered a sprained knee and could miss the playoffs. This is a huge loss for the Golden State Warriors. After getting smacked at home by the Celtics, people are questioning what will happen moving forward. The Spurs have a real shot at stealing the number one overall seed. If they are struggling with the Celtics at home; do they even have a shot against the Cavs in the finals?? Will they even make the finals? Only time will tell…

NBA All-Star Weekend a BUST?

download-6

What a terrible performance by  everyone involved in NBA all-star weekend. The only winners from that weekend were the fans of the Pelicans as they found out Cousins will be staying in town. The dunk contest was probably the worst contest of all times. The three point shootout was not very entertaining this year. The Skills challenge was enjoyable, but only lasted a few minutes. The Celebrity game was actually better than the all-star game itself. Kevin Garnett was the most entertaining thing that happened all weekend. It makes one ask the question; Should the NBA do away with this game and just give all the players a break?

Cousins to the Pelicans. Ya you read that right…

demarcus-cousins-trade-grades

The Pelicans may have pulled off the biggest steal in NBA history as they lured Cousins and Casspi away from the Kings. Who did the Pelicans have on their roster to make this trade? Well the answer is nothing at all. And that is what they ended up giving the Kings. A big fat nothing….

The Kings received three guards, Hield, Evans, and Galloway along with next years 1st round pick. Yes they gave up virtually nothing for the best big man in the NBA. Now he will be teamed up with the second best big man in the NBA. The Pelicans received an A- for this trade and the Kings Received a D for the trade. The only reason they got a D is because Hield is a rookie that is a gym rat and could possibly turn into something in a few years. They will also get a high draft pick next year. Still that is being nice. There is no way they deserve a D. I would rate this trade an F 10 out of 10 times. The Pelicans getting an A- is only because they still need to sign Cousins long term as his contract is soon to expire.  If they pull that off then their GM should get GM of the year.

The NBA and all of it’s fans are in total shock right now. All I wanna say is good for the Pelicans and fire the Kings GM.19406582

Were the Thunder Fans too harsh?

20westbrooksub-master768

Thunder fans have been waiting a long time for Durant to return to OKC. The media really hyped this game up. Everyone in the world knew that Durant would not get a warm welcome home. I personally don’t think Durant did anything wrong by leaving OKC. He is taking the easier road to the finals, which is soft, but that is still his choice. Where Kevin made his mistake, was he never told Westbrook and let him find out from the media. It was like Lebron’s “decision” when he decided to go to the Heat. Neither player made a bad choice. they both just handled it the wrong way and pissed off a lot of people. I knew that Durant would get booed but I didn’t think it would be as bad as it was. They were all over him all night long. They booed every time he touched the ball all game long. The Warriors smacked the Thunder for the 3rd straight time this year. Clearly they are the much better team. Even though the Thunder loss, theirs fans sent a message loud and clear. There is only one super star left in OKC, and that is Westbrook. The Thunder have his back in this whole ordeal and Durant is not welcome back in that city at anytime.

Did Lebron step “out of bounds”

Those of you that follow basketball have heard former NBA all-star Charles Barkley come at Lebron James time and time again. Last time he questioned his competitiveness and called him a whiner. These comments came after Lebron made comments that the team still needed another play maker to keep pace with the Warriors. Lebron fired back at Charles Barkley by making it personal. He brought up many things in Charles Barkley’s personal life that have come out over the years. I can’t say I blame Lebron for getting offended by these comments, and he was clearly sick of them. With that being said I think he took it too far by attacking Barkley’s personal life.

Melo on the move to….

Should Celtics Take a chance and trade for Melo?? What team should he go to?

Should Celtics Take a chance and trade for Melo?

It is clear the the Knicks are actively shopping Melo, as they should be. They are sitting outside the playoff picture and not playing good basketball. Melo’s ball dominant offense game may be stunting the growth of future all-star Porzingis. All that is left to question is, what team should take a chance and trade for him? Will anyone take a chance and trade for him? As of now the top contenders for landing this perennial all-star are the Clippers and the Cavaliers. Clippers would not have to give up any of their “big names” they are still reluctant to give up knock down shooter JJ Redick. I personally think would be terrible decision to make this trade for the Clippers. Then again what do they have to lose because they won’t beat the Warriors with their current roster. Cleveland would have to give up Love to get Melo. That is crazy and I don’t think there is any chance that will happen. Don’t sleep on Danny Ainge pulling off a blockbuster and landing the all-star. I for one, think if he is going anywhere this year he will end up in Celtic Green.

Are Warriors Ruining the NBA Season?

download-5

For those of you who watch First Take on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith often talks about how Kevin Durant has ruined the NBA. He claims that the Warriors will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers in the finals and the Warriors will ultimately win. Personally, I respectfully disagree with Stephen A. Smith and everyone else who believes this to be true.

I get that the Warriors look like that can’t be touched leading the NBA in assists per game by a land slide. They share the ball better than any NBA team. I get that sometimes they spread the floor with shooters that simply just do not miss. I get that their defense is much better than it was expected to be. There is no doubt that this is a super team and they should win the NBA Championship with ease.

But for everyone who looks at this and says it is a forgone conclusion; I say to you that you are crazy. This is Sports people!! The game is not won on paper. Who is to say that The Spurs and coach Pop (best NBA coach ever in my eyes) can’t find a way to beat them in the Western Conference finals. Who says that the Cavaliers don’t make a blockbuster trade and defend their crown. (cough cough knicks are trying to trade Melo). Bulls might trade their whole god damn team. Jimmy Butler to the Cavs?? What if Wade went to Cleveland and teamed up with Lebron again. How about these up-starred Celtics? They are much better than anyone thought they would be. They are a piece away from being true contenders. What if a star for the Warriors goes down to injury?

I get it, they are favorites to win it all. I mean let’s be real; they should be. I am just saying this is sports people! The NBA season is not ruined and anyone who says that is crazy in my eyes. It is not easy to win an NBA Championship. Even when you are the best team on paper so much has to go your way. Call me crazy but you heard it first here. This kid is taking the field in the 2017 NBA playoffs over the Warriors.
